Picture a desert. What do you see? Cacti and stretches of dry land? When you think of a desert, that’s most likely what pops up in your head. But what if we told you that we see fields of bright-colored flowers blanketing some of California’s deserts … would you believe us? Well, it’s true! Although the National Parks Service doesn’t call what people have been spotting “super blooms,” fields of flowers are popping up at higher elevations—places where you wouldn’t normally see massive blooms. How do these fields of flowers grow in such dry and hot locations? It’s all about the weather! With the perfect combination of lots of rain throughout the winter and early spring months, and then sun and warmer weather, even flowers can bloom in the desert! Well, Xyza’s co-founder Sapna Satagopan didn’t see the desert blooms, but she did get a close-up look at the Southern California wildflower super bloom. And yes, she thought that these super blooms were bloo-ti-ful! Wouldn’t you agree?
